Rock out at Red Rocks Amphitheater

People walking on steps surrounded by red rocks

There are many concert venues in Denver, but none are as iconic as the Red Rocks Amphitheater. During the day, this is one of the best spots to visit for getting some exercise and taking in the view, but at night, it transforms into one of the most epic concert spots.

Because it’s outdoors, the majority of the shows here are during the summer months, and tickets can go fast. Be sure to check out their calendar to see what shows will be happening so you can enjoy one with your partner.

Whether you’re into classic rock, indie, hip hop, or anything in between, there’s sure to be a show that you’ll both enjoy. And if you’re lucky enough to snag tickets to a sold-out show, that’s just another reason to get close and cuddle up.

Have breakfast at Syrup

We are pretty much brunch lovers when it comes to this city, but to this day, Syrup is one of our favorites. Located right in the historic LoDo neighborhood, it’s likely that it’ll even be near your hotel if you’re staying downtown.

This Denver restaurant offers a delicious menu of pancakes, waffles, and other breakfast items that are sure to please you and your date. The relaxed atmosphere and charming decor make Syrup the perfect place to start the morning.

As far as what to order, I highly recommend checking out one of their eggs benedicts and asking for it on a croissant. Keep in mind there’s usually always a wait here, but it’s always worth it.

Enjoy the view from the 54thirty Rooftop

Here’s the thing – there are many rooftop bars in Denver. However, 54thirty is one of the best, and it has a truly breathtaking view, so why not go there for a date and enjoy it?

This rooftop bar is located on the top of the Le Meridien Denver Downtown hotel, and it offers stunning panoramic views of the city. Enjoy a few drinks and some small bites as you take in the sights of Denver with your date. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic evening out.

Once you’re done, you have the rest of Denver’s Central Business District at your fingertips, so you can explore a bit more.

Try to get out of an Escape Room

Man and woman trying to escape a room for fun

I’ll be honest with you; one of our go-to date night ideas in Denver is to try to escape a room together. Why? It’s so fun to problem-solve, and we actually have a pretty good track record!

Denver is home to a number of escape room venues, each offering its own unique challenges and puzzles for you to solve. Whether you’re a fan of mysteries or mind-bending puzzles, an escape room is sure to get your adrenaline pumping.

In case you don’t know what an escape room is, it is a physical adventure game in which players are locked in a room and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles and escape within a set time limit.

Denver’s escape rooms vary in theme and difficulty, so you can choose an adventure that’s perfect for you and your date.

Not only will you get to test your teamwork and problem-solving skills, but you’ll also have a lot of fun in the process. Just be sure to choose an escape room that’s appropriate for your skill level – you don’t want to get stuck in a room with no way out!

We’ve done many escape rooms in Denver, but Escapology on California Street is our favorite. All their rooms are a blast, but their submarine room was particularly challenging! (Spoiler alert, but we still got out in time.)

Catch a movie at The 88 Drive-In Theatre

Located in Commerce City right outside of Denver, The 88 Drive-In Theatre is a great place to cuddle up and watch a movie together. Plus, it’s under the stars, and what’s more romantic than that?

Denver is a beautiful city with a lot to offer, and that includes amazing places to have a picnic. Confluence Park is one of those places. With stunning views of downtown Denver and the mountains in the distance, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a romantic picnic for two.

We used to live in LoDo just a short walk from this park, and we loved that it always felt more like a local’s playground. You can just put out a blanket on one of the hills, enjoy the view, and have dinner or lunch!

Get lost in Meow Wolf Convergence Station

If you want to do something different and unique, then you should definitely check out Meow Wolf Convergence Station. This place is all about interactive art, and it’s the perfect place to get lost in with your date.

You’ll both have a blast exploring all of the different art installations, and it’s a great way to spend some quality time together. Plus, it’s just a really fun place to be! We went during opening week and loved it; each of the rooms is so different, and you could easily spend a whole afternoon here.

Denver has so much to offer for couples, and Meow Wolf Convergence Station is definitely one of the most unique places to check out.

There are also a variety of different trail lengths with varying difficulties here, so pick one that’s best for the two of you!

Order a coffee flight at Grounds for Dismissal

Flight of four coffees: Nutella Latte, Smores, Choco-Covered Strawberry, and Almond Bliss

We recommend Grounds for Dismissal tirelessly, and that’s because it’s truly our favorite coffee shop in the whole city. They have flights of coffee that you can order, and they change throughout the year depending on the month.

This is one of the best date night ideas in Denver because it’s a great way to learn more about each other and taste some delicious coffee. Plus, it’s the perfect place to people-watch and just relaxes, since it’s a more laidback date idea.

Have a drink at a RINO Brewery

Flight of four hard ciders

There’s nothing like sharing a delicious craft beer with your special someone on a date. While there are many breweries around the city, the RiNo breweries truly pack a punch, and that’s because there are many to choose from in this neighborhood.

Our favorite is actually Stem Ciders, which is a cidery. They have delicious flights that you can order to taste a few of the different ciders that they offer. Plus, they have ample outdoor seating!

Go to Rocky Mountain National Park to stargaze

Couple stargazing at night

One of the most special places to explore together is Rocky Mountain National Park located just an hour and a half outside of Denver in Estes Park. The park provides a great spot to go stargazing near Denver.

For an unforgettable experience, head to the park after sunset and find a spot to relax and take in the stunning night sky. You’ll be amazed at how many stars you can see, and it’s the perfect place to cuddle up with your special someone. If you’re feeling adventurous, pack a picnic dinner to enjoy under the stars.

Now, most people will opt to go stargazing at night, but we actually recommend getting to the park in the early morning around 3/4 a.m., to stargaze. It’s a lot quieter at this time, and then all the stars will already be out!

Play a round of golf at Urban Putt

Urban Putt is a bit of a hidden gem in Denver that we stumbled upon when we were downtown. This mini golf course is inside and has a fun, industrial vibe to it, with a relaxing atmosphere. Plus, it has a restaurant with incredible food, and you can bring any drinks right out to the golf course.

If you and your partner are looking for something active and outdoorsy, why not try playing a round of golf at Urban Putt? This unique mini golf course is set up to represent different areas of Denver, including Red Rocks and the airport!

Shop at the Denver Premium Outlets

Couple shopping with bags

If you want to do some shopping for your date, then head to the Denver Premium Outlets. They are located a bit north, but it’s an outdoor shopping mall with some great deals, and you never know what you might find.

While you’re there, you could also have a nice meal together at one of the restaurants. This is one of our favorite places to go for a laidback date on the weekends and to get some fresh air if we aren’t up for a hike!

Try indoor skydiving at iFly

There are also a lot of great restaurants nearby since it’s just by downtown Denver, so you can have a romantic dinner before or after your day at the park. In the fall, you could even go to Fright Fest together!

Colorado Rockies playing a game at Coors Field

One of our fave date nights is to catch a Colorado Rockies game at Coors Field. Often, if you wait and purchase tickets online a day or two before the game, you can snag them for around $20 if you don’t mind sitting higher up.

(Pro tip: if you sit higher up, then you’ll actually be a lot cooler because there’s a breeze!)

See a show at Ogden Theatre

Ogden Theatre historic venue has been hosting live music shows for over 100 years, so you can be sure that they know how to put on a good show! Plus, with a wide variety of genres represented, there’s sure to be a show that you both enjoy.

We’ve seen many shows at concert venues around the city, but Ogden is our favorite because it’s a lot more intimate. We recommend getting their early (yes, like so early you wait in line to enter) and then heading straight upstairs. The first few people upstairs get seats next to bar-like tables, which means you can be comfortable during the show.

So grab your tickets, head downtown, and enjoy a night of great music and good company!
