There are so many great Lohi Denver restaurants, from chicken shacks to Italian restaurants and everything in between. Because of that, it can be hard to choose exactly where to eat.
However, we lived in Denver for quite a few years and ate all around the city, which allowed us to narrow down exactly what the best restaurants are. Plus, we’re major foodies, so you can rest assured that the food is tasty!

Best Restaurants in LoHi Denver
Chicken Rebel
First up on our list is Chicken Rebel, a chicken restaurant you should absolutely visit if you’re a chicken fan like us. This female-owned and operated restaurant has some of the best chicken sandwiches in the Mile High City.
On the menu, you can find tasty chicken sandwiches like Nashville Hot Chicken with ranch slaw or even the Freebird-Vegan with avocado and jalapeno slaw.
Loaded tater tots are also available for you to top off the meal. They even have green chile tots with roasted green chile, rebel sauce, and shredded cheddar. What could be better?
Root Down
Head to Root Down in Lohi if you want something with a moody atmosphere. This shop sources a lot of its food locally, which makes everything on the menu even tastier.
Choose between either their dinner or brunch menu. At dinner, choose between meals like warm herbed feta, pan-roasted chicken, Bison NY strip, and more. Then, pair it with a tasty banana cream pie for dessert.
This is also one of the best Denver vegan restaurants.
Wildflower
Another of the best Denver LoHi restaurants is Wildflower! This is another all-day restaurant that has local ingredients. Most of the dishes are Italian or Mexican.
On the menu, you can find dishes like Scottish salmon, NY steak strip, grilled artichokes, and more. Their cafe is also amazing, which has local pastries and coffees as well as traditional ceremonial matchas.
The Post Chicken & Beer
The Post is a restaurant and brewery that has a lot of locations around Denver, including in LoHi. It was famously featured in one of Guy Fieri’s shows, Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives, so you know it’s good.
You’ll find exactly what you think you’ll find on the menu: local brews and chicken. All of their chicken dishes are amazing; we’ve eaten here a few times and always leave with a full stomach.
Choose between chicken and waffles, hand-breaded chicken tenders, or even green chile braised pork. There are also tasty sides like thighfries, burrata and marinated peppers, and more.
Postino LoHi
Looking for tasty Italian food in LoHi? Don’t miss out on Postino LoHi. This Italian restaurant has some of the tastiest Italian food in the city of Denver, and they have outdoor seating.
For a real treat, try one of their great charcuterie boards. They have so many fun bruschettas, like ones with ricotta, dates, and pistachio, and even ones with brie, apple, and fig spread.
Did we mention that there are also great wines here? You’ll have so many options to wash down whatever you order.
Work & Class
Work & Class is a Latin American restaurant with a southern twist. Located in LoHi, this restaurant has a menu that changes throughout the year depending on what ingredients are fresh.
In the past, some dishes included pork carnitas, green peppercorn brisket, and even cajun deep-fried trout. There are also always some great appetizers, including salads and other finger dishes.
One great thing about Work & Class is that even when it’s busy, you usually don’t have to wait super long for a seat. Plus, a lot of the menu items are gluten-free.
Avanti F&B
Food halls in Denver are all the rage, and we love bringing guests to them when they visit because there are so many options. Lohi also has one called Avanti F&B, which has a location in nearby Boulder, too.
The LoHi Avanti F&B has great burger restaurants, a pizza place, a Mexican joint, a pho restaurant, and more. Truly, no matter what you’re in the mood for, you can get it here.
This restaurant is rather busy in the evenings, but the atmosphere is incredibly lively. The views of the Mile High City are also breathtaking.
Mizu Izakaya
If you’re looking for LoHi Denver restaurants, then you’ll have to check out Mizu Izakaya. This Japanese restaurant has small bites that are tapas-style, so you can try a lot of great food at once.
While it’s a bit on the pricier side, this is an incredible spot to go if you are looking for a place to meet up with friends. They first opened in 2016, and the interior is super open with lots of natural lighting.
Some great items on the menu include crispy gyoza, cream pork kimchi, furikake fries, pork belly buns, and takoyaki. You can’t go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu.
Dimestore Delibar
For a more laidback atmosphere in LoHi, look no further than Dimestore Delibar. This restaurant has cocktails, sandwiches, and more, plus there’s a lively outdoor area where you can dine.
Oh, and did we mention that it’s located right near the famous Little Man Ice Cream?
One of the top dishes on the menu is the meatloaf sandwich. However, if that’s not your jam, there are other great dishes like roast beef sandwiches, chicken parm sandwiches, classic steak and cheese, and more.
Don’t forget to choose from the many sides, too, like house-pickled veggies, housemade salt, and vinegar chips (YUM), or even pasta salad.
Ash’Kara
Ash’Kara is an Israeli restaurant that focuses on using local ingredients. The inside has a really fun vibe, with bright lights, exposed wooden beams, and ample seating.
They are open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, so you can’t go wrong any time of day. At dinner, you can find dishes like falafel, harissa watermelon and tomato salad, and even wood-fired carrots on the menu.
If you’re looking for Denver happy hour, this can also be a great spot to go.
Recess
Recess is one of our favorite restaurants in LoHi Denver. This beer garden is always upbeat and has one of the best outdoor patios in Denver we’ve ever experienced.
The restaurant is really casual, and no matter what type of food you like, you’ll find something on the menu. Some classics include Korean BBQ wings with sticky BBQ sauce, Recess nachos, and even a Korean burrito. What’s not to love?
They also have ample drinks that you can pair with the food. As a beer garden, the selection is incredible. We’ve been lucky enough to try a tasty cherry cider there a few times!
Forest Room 5
Forest Room 5 is one of the more unique LoHi Denver restaurants, featuring hip decor. It’s another of the restaurants that are actually located near Little Man Ice Cream!
The lighting is dim, but it’s a popular spot among the younger Denverities. There’s a cozy vibe and atmosphere to the location, and it also has some outdoor seating.
The lounge overall is often seen as an Instagram-lover’s paradise, too. Many people say that eating here reminds them of summer camp!
Cart Driver Lo-Hi
Last but certainly not least is Cart Driver Lo-Hi. If you want pizza and wine, this is the place to go! Plus, they have mid-range pricing. Many say that this joint has some of the best pizzas in all of Denver.
They are open for both lunch and dinner, plus they have a happy hour. On the menu, you can find pasta, pizzas, and more. They even have tasty appetizers like oysters, beet and ricotta salad, and even charcuterie boards that you can share.
If you find yourself in RiNo, Cart Driver also has a location there.
